Actress Saba Qamar has landed in hot water after her recent podcast remark about Karachi went viral, triggering a wave of criticism across social media.
When asked if she would ever move to Karachi for work, Saba laughed and replied, “Astaghfirullah, never—but maybe I shouldn’t say that.” She explained that she prefers the open spaces and greenery of Lahore and Islamabad, where she feels more at peace, unlike Karachi’s fast-paced urban lifestyle.
Her comment, however, didn’t sit well with many online users who accused her of disrespecting Karachi, arguing that celebrities often earn fame and fortune from the city but criticize it publicly.
One user posted, “She said Astaghfirullah for Karachi — that’s plain disrespect,” while another wrote, “If your dramas are shot in Karachi, why speak against it?”
