Former Pakistani cricketer Basit Ali has slammed India’s cricket team, saying that while they are the world’s number one side, their behavior on and off the field is that of a third-rate team.

Basit Ali criticized India’s refusal to accept the trophy from PCB Chairman and Asian Cricket Council President Mushtaq Nawaz during the Asia Cup, calling it “shameful.” He questioned that if Pakistan had done the same in an ICC event, the world would have criticized them.
Despite winning the Asia Cup, India’s players left the awards ceremony without taking the trophy, delaying the function and ignoring traditional celebrations. Basit Ali said such acts of ego and politics are harming cricket’s spirit and urged teams to respect the game beyond rankings.
