Washington – Donald Trump has launched a massive $15 billion lawsuit against The New York Times and four of its reporters, accusing them of running years of “biased and fabricated stories” that damaged his reputation, election campaigns, and business image.
The case, filed in the Federal Court of Florida’s Middle District, points to three investigative articles and a book published during his election campaign. Trump’s legal team also cited the paper’s endorsement of Democratic candidate and current Vice President Kamala Harris as proof of political bias.
Trump alleges the paper misrepresented his family, businesses, and “America First” movement, causing him legal and electoral setbacks.
The New York Times, however, dismissed the case as baseless, calling it an attempt to intimidate the press. The paper insists its reporting was backed by evidence and served the public interest.
Analysts say if Trump wins, the verdict could trigger a historic legal and financial blow to U.S. media and set new challenges for press freedom.
