Bollywood’s celebrated playback singer Sonu Nigam has revealed that the turning point of his career came from a Pakistani legend — Attaullah Khan Esakhelvi.

In a recent interview, Sonu shared that his first big break was singing Attaullah’s timeless hit “Achha Sila Diya Tune Mere Pyar Ka.” The song not only made his voice famous across India but also opened doors to stardom.
Getting emotional, Sonu recalled:
“Attaullah Saab is a great human being. When I sang his song, he personally called me and said, ‘Mr. Sonu, this is Attaullah Khan Esakhelvi from Pakistan. You’ve sung my song beautifully.’”
Sonu was just 19 then, but that call and the song became the defining moment of his career.
His revelation left fans amazed and filled Pakistanis with pride, as one of India’s biggest stars credited his success to their legendary singer.
