The World Test Championship (WTC) final isn’t going anywhere—England will host it for the next three editions till 2031, the ICC announced on Sunday.
Since the WTC started, the trophy clash has basically become England’s home event. Southampton hosted the first final in 2021, and the last two were played in London.

The ECB is celebrating the decision, calling it proof of the world’s love for Test cricket—and for English grounds.
The 2025 WTC final at Lord’s was a blockbuster, drawing 109,000+ fans in four days and racking up 225 million digital views. That match saw South Africa dethrone defending champs Australia.

With this decision, Lord’s and London are set to remain cricket’s Test capital for the next six years.
