The much-anticipated trailer for ‘Shamsheer’, a gripping original web series based on Pakistan’s national sport, hockey, was unveiled in a star-studded ceremony at a local hotel.
The event was buzzing with celebrities from showbiz, sports, and media, including the lead cast Farhan Saeed, Hareem Farooq, Behroze Sabzwari, and Umer Alam. The series is produced by Nina Kashif and directed by Shehzad Sheikh.
Adding real star power to the night were legendary hockey players Qamar Ibrahim, Sameer Hussain, and team captain Amjad Butt. After the trailer reveal, a powerful panel discussion dived deep into hockey’s role in shaping Pakistan’s identity and its glorious past.

Farhan Saeed, who plays the lead, said the series could “breathe new life into hockey,” while Hareem Farooq admitted she never knew how dominant Pakistan once was in the sport — calling the project a tribute to forgotten heroes.
