‘Go Cashless’ This Eid – State Bank Turns Cattle Markets Digital

-

In a bold step toward a digital future, the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has rolled out its nationwide “Go Cashless” campaign just in time for Eidul Adha — turning livestock markets into digital zones.

Launched on May 20 and continuing till Eid night, the campaign transforms how Pakistanis will buy and sell sacrificial animals, pay for essentials like fodder and water, and even handle parking — all through digital payments.

With support from banks, this tech-forward move aims to cut cash chaos and bring ease, safety, and transparency to the bustling Eid markets.

To supercharge the shift, SBP has raised digital transaction limits from May 19 to June 15, allowing traders and buyers to transfer larger amounts without hassle.

If the moon shows up as expected on May 28, Eidul Adha will likely be celebrated on June 7 — and this year, your qurbani might just be one tap away.
