U.S. Issues Travel Alert Amid Security Risks in India and Pakistan on the Rise

-

Tensions, threats, and travel risks —
the U.S. issues a fresh advisory for India and Pakistan amid growing security concerns. The U.S. State Department has warned its citizens about potential terrorist attacks and urged caution while traveling in both countries. In India, the advisory highlights the credible risk of attacks in public spaces like tourist sites, shopping malls, and marketplaces, with regions like Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, and parts of eastern and central India flagged as high-risk areas.

The advisory also raises alarms over escalating crime, violence, and reports of sexual assault at popular tourist destinations in India.

For Pakistan, the advisory emphasizes the potential for conflict near the India-Pakistan border and the Line of Control (LoC), where military tensions remain high and the risk of escalation is real.

U.S. citizens are advised to stay alert and avoid unnecessary travel to sensitive areas in both countries.
