“I’m Captain of 250 Millions; Not a Professor in English,” Quips Rizwan

National captain Mohammad Rizwan, who’s leading Multan Sultans in HBL PSL 10, says he doesn’t just see himself as a team captain—but as someone representing 250 million Pakistanis.

“Every captain dreams of lifting the trophy. We’ll give it everything this season. And yes, the pressure’s real—not just as a captain, but as a player too,”

he said.

Speaking to media ahead of their clash with Karachi Kings at National Stadium, Rizwan admitted, “We’ve made mistakes in the past. The fans have every right to be disappointed—we didn’t deliver. But while there’s criticism, there’s also so much love. It’s just the unnecessary hate that hurts.”

He emphasized the need for constructive criticism: “Everyone learns. Seniors should support juniors, not just criticize. Constant negativity only builds resentment.”

Responding to Shahid Afridi’s comments, he said, “He mostly supported me, but questioning my authority as captain didn’t really need to happen.”
