Saim Ayub Talks About Cricket Inspirations & his Comeback after Injury

-

Saim Ayub, the rising star of Pakistan cricket, recently shared his childhood dream of joining the national team. He used to watch the Pakistan players with their bags and dream about carrying his own, complete with that iconic Pakistan helmet.

Growing up, Saim admired a number of cricket legends. He mentioned Saeed Anwar, Brian Lara, Sachin Tendulkar, and Adam Gilchrist as his inspirations. He even recalled meeting Saeed Anwar at a mosque, but back then, they didn’t talk cricket since Saim wasn’t yet part of the national team.

Now, if Saim had the chance to meet Anwar again, he says he’d definitely discuss cricket with him.

Saim’s recovery journey from a right ankle fracture is also going strong. He was ruled out of the Champions Trophy 2025 after the injury during the South Africa Test series. However, after rehab in the UK, he’s back in the gym, focusing on his recovery.

The Pakistan Cricket Board shared updates on his rehab progress, but Saim, along with Fakhar Zaman, won’t be part of the squads for the New Zealand tour. However, Saim’s future in cricket looks bright, and he’s working hard to make his comeback.
