The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has rolled out a new system that lets freelancers register their VPNs using their mobile numbers. Before this, freelancers had to use a static IP address to register, which was tough for many who didn’t have one. Now, you can use your mobile number to register your VPN and access it with mobile data—no more hassles!
This move is a big win for the IT community and a step toward improving online security. According to a PTA spokesperson, the update is designed to remove roadblocks and help freelancers work without interruptions.
All you have to do is visit the PTA portal at [https://ipregistration.pta.gov.pk], enter your mobile number and a few other details, and you’re good to go.
Since the system launched, over 31,000 VPNs have been registered, showing how much demand there is for this new feature. This is part of PTA’s broader plan to regulate internet use and fight illegal online activities, while also supporting the digital economy.
