The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has decided to crash the wedding party with a 10% withholding tax on wedding halls!
But don’t worry, hall owners are off the hook. The tax will be collected from the happy couple (or their parents, let’s be real).
According to Rana Raees, President of the Wedding Hall Association, “It’s a small price to pay for a lifetime of happiness… and tax returns.”
So, if you’re planning a wedding, don’t forget to add “10% withholding tax” to your wedding budget, right after “Salad bar” and “Photo shoot” props”.
