Security Tightened After Wasim Akram Harassed by Fan in Perth

-

Perth – A fan harassed former Pakistani cricket captain Wasim Akram during the first Test between Australia and India, prompting an immediate review of security measures at the stadium.

Akram, who is in Australia as a commentator for Star Sports, was targeted by a fan shortly after signing an autograph. Though the incident was not racially charged, the motives behind the harassment remain unclear.

In response, Cricket Australia has announced plans to strengthen security protocols to prevent similar incidents. Commentators will now be escorted in vehicles from inside the stadium to ensure their safety.
