Controversy Rift Between Coach and PCB Threatens Pakistani Team Stability

-

A rift has developed between Pakistan’s white-ball coach, Gary Kirsten, and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), threatening the team’s stability.

Gary Kirsten has started exerting pressure on the PCB, sources reveal, due to his uncompromising stance. This has led to increasing tensions with PCB officials.

The conflict began when Kirsten sought to select individuals for central contracts and support staff positions. Additionally, he refused to fulfill his residency agreement in Pakistan. As per his PCB contract, Kirsten was allowed a one-month holiday, with the expectation of supervising the national team for the remaining 11 months.

However, Kirsten declined to stay in Pakistan during the Champions One-Day Cup and other events. The PCB aims to enforce their agreement. Sources revealed that Gary Kirsten has also threatened not to travel to Australia, where the Pakistan team is scheduled to play three ODIs and three T20 Internationals, until the contract details of mental performance coach David Reed are clarified.

Sources confirm the PCB has decided to resist Kirsten’s pressure tactics.

The escalating dispute between Kirsten and the PCB poses a significant challenge for Pakistan’s cricket team, potentially impacting their performance in upcoming international matches.
