Afghanistan ‘A’ secured their maiden ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup title, overpowering Sri Lanka ‘A’ by seven wickets in a dominating final on Sunday.

The team successfully pursued a modest 134-run target, concluding at 137/3 in merely 18.1 overs.

Openers Sediqullah Atal and Zubair Akbari established the groundwork for triumph, with Atal compiling a rapid 55 off 32 deliveries.

Following Akbari’s early dismissal, Atal stabilized the innings alongside Darwish Rasoli.

Karim Janat contributed a swift 33 off 27 balls, ensuring Afghanistan’s victory.

Earlier, Afghanistan’s bowlers delivered a commanding display after securing the toss and opting to bowl.

Allah Gul Ghazanfar and Bilal Sami each claimed two wickets during the powerplay, limiting Sri Lanka to a modest 133.

Atal’s exceptional performance throughout the tournament garnered him Player of the Match and Player of the Tournament accolades, with an impressive 367 runs.

This triumph signifies a substantial accomplishment for Afghanistan ‘A’ in emerging as a formidable force in regional cricket.
