KARACHI: A domestic worker in Karachi’s Defense area fled with valuables including cash, foreign currency, and jewelry, just 20 days after being hired.
The stolen items include Rs2 million, $10,000, and 32 tolas of gold, amounting to a total value of Rs13 million. The employer disclosed that the worker had used fake identification during the hiring process.
Authorities have launched an investigation and retrieved footage of the maid’s escape. Efforts are underway to track down the suspect and recover the stolen items.
This incident mirrors a recent case in Liaquatabad, where a domestic worker drugged her employer and stole valuables worth Rs9 million.
