100 at Last Shaan Masood Scores Test Century After 1524 Days

-

Shaan Masood made a strong comeback with a remarkable performance in the opening Test against England.

The Pakistani Test Captain reached his first century in four years during the first match in Multan.

This milestone marks a key moment for Masood, who has struggled to regain form since his last century against England in August 2020.

His innings, which included seven boundaries with an impressive strike rate, played a crucial role in Pakistan’s strong start after opting to bat first.

Masood, alongside opener Abdullah Shafique, helped stabilize the innings after the early dismissal of Saim Ayub.

By lunch on Day 1, Pakistan had reached 122 for 1, building a solid platform for the rest of the innings.

In Masood’s performance stands out, given his consistent place in the squad, despite facing difficulties in converting promising starts into big scores.

In the 15 Tests since his last century, he has averaged 22.15.

Pakistan’s decision to bat first was aimed at exploiting favorable batting conditions.

Despite losing Ayub early, the partnership between Masood and Shafique brought stability and momentum, crucial for setting a competitive total against a strong England side.
