Former national cricket team captain Younis Khan has voiced deep concern over Karachi’s crumbling infrastructure, lamenting the loss of its former glory as the “City of Lights.”
In a heartfelt statement, Younis criticized the poor condition of Karachi’s roads and traffic, comparing the city’s current state to the ancient ruins of Mohenjodaro.
He reminisced about a time when Karachi’s infrastructure was better maintained and the roads were in far better shape.
Younis expressed frustration over new roads being dug up shortly after construction, blaming poor planning and mismanagement.
“The traffic system is in chaos, and the citizens are also at fault,” he said, pointing out that many people contribute to the city’s decline by ignoring their civic responsibilities.
He also raised concerns about the bad example set for children who see adults chewing Pan Gutka, a harmful habit that negatively influences the younger generation.
In a passionate plea, Younis Khan called on the authorities to rethink their approach, reminding them of their ultimate accountability. “We all must answer to Allah,” he warned, urging leaders to act before it’s too late.
