”Pakistan’s Adjustment in Squad” Spinner Abrar Ahmed Recalled for final Test

-

Pakistan is aiming to recover in the Test series against Bangladesh after an unexpected loss in the first match.

The decision to rely exclusively on pace bowlers on a slow Rawalpindi pitch proved to be a costly mistake, resulting in their first-ever Test defeat to Bangladesh.

To address this, Pakistan has made key adjustments to their squad for the second and final Test. Leg-spinner Abrar Ahmed has been recalled following the unsuccessful all-pace strategy that contributed to last week’s loss in Rawalpindi.

The pitch conditions favoured spin, and Pakistan’s pace attack struggled while
Bangladeshi spinners Shakib Al Hasan and Mehidy Hasan Miraz dominated, taking seven wickets and leading Bangladesh to a decisive 10-wicket victory.

In response, Pakistan has added Abrar, who has 38 wickets from six Tests, along with uncapped spin-bowling all-rounder Kamran Ghulam.

All-rounder Aamer Jamal has also been recalled, though his participation is contingent on fitness clearance, according to the PCB. The final Test, also in Rawalpindi, is scheduled to begin on Friday.
