In a tribute to one of Pakistan’s most celebrated athletes, a new stage drama titled “Achu Nezebaaz” has made its debut in Lahore.
The play commemorates Olympic gold medalist Arshad Nadeem and his remarkable journey to success.
The drama, which premiered on August 23, delves into Nadeem’s life and accomplishments, including his record-breaking 92.97-meter javelin throw that secured Pakistan’s first individual Olympic gold in 40 years.
Director and writer Dr. Ajmal Malik revealed that “Achu” is Nadeem’s childhood nickname and expressed his joy at the play’s rising popularity.
Saqi Khan portrays Nadeem, with a supporting cast including Afrin Khan, Feroza Ali, Reena Multani, Farah Khan, Razi Khan, and Aqeel Haider, and Muhammad Yusuf as the producer.
This play not only honours Nadeem’s historic achievement but also reflects on Pakistan’s rare Olympic successes since the hockey team’s medals in 1984 and 1992.
