Kareena Kapoor receives notice from court for using word ‘Bible’ of her pregnancy book

A lawyer sought a criminal case against the actor for allegedly hurting Christian sentiments.

According to Bar and Bench, the Madhya Pradesh High Court has served notice to actor Kareena Kapoor Khan regarding a petition challenging the use of the word “Bible” in the title of her pregnancy book.

Lawyer Christopher Anthony, the petitioner, has urged for a criminal case against Khan and others, alleging that the title “Kareena Kapoor Khan’s Pregnancy Bible: The Ultimate Manual for Moms-To-Be” has offended Christian sentiments.

Anthony has demanded the banning of the book and the removal of the word “Bible” from its title, as per PTI reports. Justice GS Ahluwalia of the High Court issued the notice to Khan, along with co-author Aditi Shah Bhimjyani, e-commerce platform Amazon Online Shopping, publisher Juggernaut Books, the Madhya Pradesh government, the Jabalpur superintendent of police, and the officer-in-charge of Omti police station in the city.

Following the release of Khan’s pregnancy book in August 2021, Anthony approached the Omti police station, seeking legal action against the actor and others for allegedly offending Christian sentiments. When the police declined to file an inquiry report, Anthony took his case to a city court, as reported by PTI.

Anthony informed the news agency that the city court dismissed his petition on February 26, 2022, prompting him to seek redressal from the High Court.
