Renowned actor expresses his sentiments while dealing with wife’s fame
Yasir Hussain, as a devoted husband, engaged in a conversation with Iffat Omar where he addressed inquiries about whether Iqra Aziz’s considerable fame affects him. Yasir openly discussed why he is unaffected by his wife’s success, expressing instead his delight in her achievements.
“There are two things,” began Yasir. “Firstly, I have a theatre background. From the age of 16, I’ve been affiliated with theatre. I left it for a while but have returned to it now. When you’re involved with theatre, you have a very intimate understanding of art. People sit right in front of you and appreciate you or don’t appreciate you. No one even recognises you after the show.”
He continued, “Things like ego, love for fame – they don’t get instilled in you. You have no need for them. All you need at that point are claps for your work, not for yourself. You become quite selfless after doing theatre, as per what I have learned. When you’re that selfless, you don’t care about who is more famous than you are. The people whom I want as my fans Alhamdulillah, I have them.”
Iffat interjected by describing a situation where Iqra is surrounded by fans at events, leaving Yasir on the sidelines. Yasir responded by emphasizing the significance of being referred to as “your wife,” indicating his profound connection to Iqra.
When asked if he takes pride in Iqra’s achievements, Yasir immediately affirmed, expressing that no one is closer to him than his wife, even placing her above their child. He revealed his gesture of giving their Islamabad apartment to Iqra, solidifying their commitment. Despite concerns from a friend about what would happen if Iqra were to leave him, Yasir emphasized that his priority is his wife, highlighting the insignificance of material possessions compared to their relationship.
